HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Nestled among the olive trees of her family's home, Carlotta's childhood was filled with the rich aromas of fresh olive oil and the warmth of cooking alongside her grandma. It was here, in the heart of Rome—a city celebrated for its culinary richness—that Carlotta's deep-rooted passion for local and handmade foods blossomed.
She then went to the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Bra, where she delved into food culture and sustainability, a path that would lead her to Melbourne. This city, bustling with culinary diversity, became Carlotta's new canvas for exploration.
THE SPARK OF CREATION
The genesis of Dancing Grass was sparked by an insight gained during a return trip to Italy. Carlotta noticed how beautifully set tables could enhance and prolong conversations around the dinner table. This, coupled with her newfound appreciation for Australian bush foods and the art of table setting, inspired her first tablecloth creation, 'Home Grown,' in collaboration with the talented Elisabeth Brain.
This moment marked the beginning of her passion for fabrics and tablecloths.
DANCING GRASS TODAY
Dancing Grass is a celebration of Carlotta's journey, a fusion of her Italian roots and her deep appreciation for local foods. Collaborating with talented artists, Dancing Grass creates unique tablecloths and housewares. Each piece tells a story of tradition, innovation, and the joy of bringing people together.
